This full-time opportunity requires 25% travel, and will be based in our downtown Houston, Texas office.

Responsibilities

Assisting in the execution of M&A and private placement transaction mandates, including:

  • Developing transaction-related materials, including contact lists, teasers, confidential information memorandums and management presentations
  • Preparing and managing data rooms and coordinating client and interested third party due diligence
  • Performing modeling, valuation and other financial analysis
  • Attending meetings with clients and interested parties related to transactions

 

Participating in marketing efforts related to companies providing services and/or products to the energy and other industrial process sectors, including:

  • Developing pitches to be delivered to companies and their investors
  • Attending meetings to win M&A and private placement (equity/debt) transaction mandates
  • Conducting industry sector and company-specific research
  • Researching and writing articles for publication in firm and industry journals
  • Preparing presentations for industry groups

 

Building relationships and maintaining contact with established and prospective clients and professional advisors

 

Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier college or university in finance, engineering or other analytical field preferred; MBA from a top-tier college or university desired
  • 3+ years of investment banking or corporate development experience required; 2+ years of post-MBA industry experience desired
  • Solid quantitative and analytical skills, including financial modeling and analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, problem solving, interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Superior organizational and time management skills, and the ability to efficiently manage multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to exercise sound independent judgment
  • Demonstrated maturity, integrity and the ability to perform in an entrepreneurial environment, both individually and as a team player
