Overview

FMI Corporation is seeking a high-energy, self-motivated individual to join our corporate finance team. The accounts receivable specialist will provide financial and administrative services to ensure and support timely and accurate billing and payment of client accounts, including allocation of revenue.

 

This full-time opportunity will be based our corporate headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Responsibilities

  • Generating final billings while ensuring proper individual revenue allocations and cross sale transactions
  • Mailing and forwarding invoices with expense detail support; issuing accounts receivable reports
  • Providing prompt and courteous customer service
  • Printing seminar, subscription and product registration orders and invoices in the system
  • Posting cash receipts daily and reconciling to open account balances
  • Making bank deposits via bank deposit remote capture system and ensuring accuracy of capture with general ledger deposit
  • Resolving partial payments promptly
  • Researching and solving client inquiries regarding billings, payments and other queries
  • Posting daily project charge-outs; assisting with collection efforts
  • Processing adjustments to client billings, payments and revenue allocations
  • Resolving unallocated revenue quarterly and prior to compensation year-end
  • Assisting with month-end closing (i.e. revenue balancing, cross sales, accounts receivable aging report)
  • Responding in a timely fashion to accounting helpdesk issues from internal customers
  • Providing supporting documents during annual audit/review

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in accounting or business required, bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5 years of experience in a professional services organization
  • Basic understanding of GAAP; thorough knowledge of Excel and other relevant MS Office applications; proficiency in ERP applications
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to work effectively with both internal and external customers
  • Superior organizational and time management skills, and the ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities in a complex service environment
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent listening, problem solving, interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Demonstrated maturity, integrity and the ability to perform in an entrepreneurial environment, both individually and as a team player
