Overview

FMI Corporation is seeking a high-energy individual with an ability to see the big picture in a dynamic business environment to join our corporate finance team. The controller will report directly to the chief financial officer. This is a hands-on position, and the successful candidate will be an analytical problem solver who possesses excellent communication skills.

 

This full-time opportunity will be based in our corporate headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating and assisting with the activities of the corporate finance department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, annual audits and annual budgets
  • Assuring corporate income and payroll tax compliance to assure the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns
  • Responding to CFO, business unit leaders and department managers with accurate and timely work
  • Participating in a wide variety of special projects and compiling a variety of special reports
  • Conforming with and abiding by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business from an accredited college or university
  • 5 -7 years of accounting managerial experience, preferably in a professional services organization
  • CPA certification desired
  • Familiarity with FINRA and SEC reporting
  • Thorough knowledge of GAAP, Excel and ERP software
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work effectively with both internal and external customers
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to exercise sound independent judgment
  • Superior organizational and time management skills, and the ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities in a complex service environment
  • High attention to detail and accuracy; ability to think strategically in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent listening, problem solving, interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Demonstrated maturity, integrity and the ability to perform in an entrepreneurial environment, both individually and as a team player
  • Familiarity with Deltek is a plus
