FMI's Compensation Group is seeking a high-energy, self-motivated individual with high level quantitative and analytical skills to join its growing team. This full-time opportunity will be based in our North Scottsdale, Arizona office.


  • Collecting and analyzing statistics and information from multiple surveys to spot trends and gain maximum insight to give the company a competitive advantage; communicating informed conclusions and recommendations
  • Utilizing statistical knowledge and methods to design and execute surveys including the collection, processing and analysis of data and interpretation of results
  • Strategizing and identifying unique opportunities to locate and collect new data; exploring and mining data from many angles and interpreting results
  • Performing analysis on collected wage data, and preparing wage and salary data for design, creation and distribution of participant reports
  • Finding and recommending new uses for existing data sources; designing, modifying and building new data processes; building complex data sets and databases
  • Producing and distributing reports to participants; responding to subscriber questions and comments
  • Providing technical expertise and training; articulating data analysis to staff and clients
  • Designing, creating and testing online applications and dashboards
  • Developing and managing MySQL master survey database
  • Building dashboards using Tableau
  • Interfacing MS Access with MySQL for survey report production
  • Building client presentations of survey results and trend analysis
  • Interacting with people at all levels across a client organization, including senior-level executives
  • Overseeing multiple projects for multiple clients simultaneously
  • Ensuring superior customer service through follow-up, client responsiveness and customer-focused communication
  • Performing other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in data science, mathematics, statistics, computer science or related field
  • 3+ years of professional work experience
  • Advanced knowledge of data analysis concepts, practices and procedures
  • Proficiency in statistical modeling and analysis, predictive modeling, linear regression, multiple-regression models, forecasting algorithms, data structuring and data visualization
  • Previous database management experience including data modeling, MySQL and advanced MS Access (tables, queries, forms, reports, macros, VBA, SQL)
  • ODBC connections to MySQL/SQL Server – MS Access and Excel
  • High level proficiency in MS Excel including pivot tables, graphs, charts, macros and VBA
  • Business intelligence software experience in Tableau, business objects, SAS, SPSS, R and/or Minitab
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to exercise sound independent judgment
  • Demonstrated project management skills; ability to work independently, perform well under pressure and adapt to change
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, problem solving, interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Maturity, integrity and the ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment, both individually and as a team player
