Overview

FMI's Compensation Group is seeking a high-energy, self-motivated individual with solid quantitative and analytical skills to join its growing team. The selected candidate will have a tremendous learning opportunity to acquire new skills from established and published compensation thought leaders and directly participate in the continuous improvement of our service solutions. A team-oriented consulting model drives the FMI process, and client interaction occurs at the top levels. This role will make a difference by transforming an industry to the latest best practices and data strategies, one client at a time – from Fortune 500 construction contractors to environmental engineering start-ups. This full-time opportunity requires significant (40-60%) travel and will be based in our North Scottsdale, Arizona office.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting detailed quantitative and qualitative analyses to support client engagements
  • Creating, maintaining and improving analytical tools, models and processes
  • Interacting regularly with individuals at all levels within a client organization, including senior-level executives
  • Developing client work product, including drafting reports and presentations
  • Conducting interviews and assessing information to identify clients’ salient issues
  • Participating in multiple compensation projects for diverse clients simultaneously
  • Ensuring superior customer service through proactive follow-up and customer-focused communication
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in economics, business, finance, human resources, statistics, data science or related field; master’s degree or MBA preferred
  • 0-3 years of professional work experience, with prior consulting or compensation experience preferred
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation preferred
  • Strong skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint; Access knowledge desirable
  • Sound understanding of basic statistics and principles; satisfactory completion of one or more statistics classes
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to relate results to overall project goals
  • Ability to consider and articulate creative, unique and effective approaches to work assignments and exercise sound independent judgment
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Ability to work independently, perform well under pressure and adapt to change
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, problem solving, interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Maturity, integrity and the ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment, both individually and as a team player
